Ramblers
The Rainbow Springs Ramblers is a travel group that has partnered with the AAA Travel Group in the Villages, and provides quality events and fun activities for anyone who wants to enjoy life outside of Dunnellon.   There is no obligation to buy anything and no club to join.  You don’t even have to be a resident of Rainbow Springs, or a member of AAA to participate, so invite your friends and relatives to come along.  

Each bus trip will be jam packed with fun and games, as well as, an opportunity to win a monetary certificate which can be used toward your next trip with us.

All trips include motor coach transportation to and from the event from our meeting location at the Winn-Dixie parking lot located on Rt. 41 in Dunnellon unless otherwise stated.

A minimum bus driver gratuity is included for all trips.

September 20, 2019 - Calypso Queen Lunch Cruise  Relax in comfort on one of the Calypso Queen’s two enclosed decks, or go up top to enjoy the warm breeze and radiant sun.  This trip includes a delicious tropical island style luncheon buffet, with cold and hot selections, and complimentary beer, wine, rum-punch, and soda.  And amid the partying, you will also enjoy some dolphin encounters as we cruise along.  Dress in your favorite Calypso outfit and really feel the island charm.  Cost is $83 per person.

October 16, 2019 - Kennedy Space Center   There is so much to see and do at the Space Center that most of us didn’t get to see it all last year, so we’re doing it again this year.  Your journey into the world of space exploration includes films in 3D at the IMAX theater, a walk through the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, The space shuttle Atlantis, a bus tour to the Apollo/Saturn V Center, a Journey to Mars, a shuttle launch experience, and many other shows and exhibits.  Lunch is on your own at any of the on-site cafes or restaurants.  Cost is $107 per person.

November 15, 2019 - President’s Hall of Fame / Lakeridge Winery   Your trip will begin with a one-of-a-kind stroll through displays that are dedicated to the Presidents, their First Ladies, and all things patriotic.  Explore the history of our nation through detailed displays, wax figures, and a glance at the entire White House in miniature. After, we will head to lunch at the Plantation Oaks Restaurant.   Then it’s on to the Lakeridge Winery, where we will tour the premises and observe how the grapes go from plump, round, and juicy fruit to the clear, fermented, and delicious wine we all enjoy.  At the end we will do a little free wine tasting and have the opportunity to purchase bottles of your favorite ones.  Cost is $77 per person.

December 14, 2019 - The Singing Christmas Trees  Watch with awe as two human Christmas Trees, that are over 40 feet tall, come to life in song.   This unique chorus adds harmony to the wonderful stage performance.  The theme for the play has not been revealed, but it is always a spectacular Christmas story that will warm your heart with delight.  The trip includes a grand buffet lunch and desserts.  The cost is $95 per person.

February 13, 2020 Early Bird Dinner Theater   Watch a funny and entertaining stage performance at a family establishment that has been in business for over 25 years, while enjoying a fantastic buffet style dinner catered by Banquet Masters.  The play, which will be announced at a later date, will be of superb quality, by professional actors, and always very funny.  Watch for details at a later date.  Cost is $87 per person.  

March 23 - 26, 2020 - Savannah  This will be a trip to remember for years to come.  Three nights in the Hampton Inn and Suites in Downtown Savannah, with plenty of time for group tours and time on your own.  Together we will eat at the Pirates House, enjoy a step-on guide for a city tour, have lunch on a riverboat cruise, and tour the Davenport house and gardens.  You will have lots of time on your own to shop and tour the things you want to see.  Then on the last day, we will drive to Tybee Island to see the lighthouse and museum.  You will have time to shop and eat lunch on your own before heading for home.  On the way we will make a short rest stop at Peach World.  Cost is $699 per person, double occupancy.  $949 single.  A deposit of $299 per person is due at booking.

April 25, 2020 - St. John’s River Cruise  You won’t want to miss this three hour cruise on the historic paddle-wheeled river ship, the Barbara Lee.  You’ll start with appetizers and sweet buns, as you roam the decks enjoying the fresh air and abundant wildlife along the river.  Herons, osprey, eagles, turtles, and gators, just to name a few of what you might see.  Then you will dine on your choice of four delicious entrees, which are prepared right there in the galley onboard the ship.  Salad and beverages are included.  A cash bar is also available.  You’ll even listen to live music and other entertainment as you enjoy your dessert.  The cost is $94 per person.

June 17, 2020 - Mazzaro's & John’s Pass   This trip is an ultimate shopper’s delight.  Your shopping spree starts at John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk, a quaint fishing village located on the waterfront in the Tampa/St Petersburg area.  You’ll spend approximately three hours exploring the over one hundred merchants that inhabit the area.  You’ll find unique shops and a variety of restaurants to enjoy lunch on your own.  Then we will board the bus and head for Mazzaro’s.  You’ll love shopping in this one-of-a-kind authentic Italian Market, with everything from freshly made pastas, spices, meats, and cheeses to seafood, bakery items, coffee, imported oils, wine, beer, and made-to-order food to go.  Be sure to bring some grocery bags and a cooler to keep your purchases fresh for the ride home.  Cost is $45 per person.
